Why is My Background Check Pending?

Every Coach or Manager who is 18 or turning 18 before the end of the seasonal year (typically July 31) is required to complete a Background Check. After submission, the information is then transferred to the Governing Body, who then completes the background check through a third-party company. Each Governing Body processes background checks at different rates.

    Every Coach or Manager who is 18 or turning 18 before the end of the seasonal year (typically July 31) is required to complete a Background Check. After submission, the information is then transferred to the Governing Body, who then completes the background check through a third-party company. Each Governing Body processes background checks at different rates, but as long as your information is inputted accurately, a background check will usually take 24-48 hours to come back after submission. 

     

    If your Background Check status has been in the Pending status for more than 5 days, you will need to reach out to your Club/Organization admin, who can help reach out to your Governing Body/Association, who can provide the update to the status. 

    GotSport cannot change the status of the Background Check, or provide an update to the status. We provide the software platform, that holds the status, but it is your Governing Body that will need to provide you the update for your status.
