Assignors - Clear & Restore Stale Assignments using the Match Chart

Overview: This articles provides instructions on how to restore or clear assignments when changes have been made to an existing match, designating a "Stale" assignment, when using the "Match Chart". A match will be listed as having "Stale" assignments if there is a change to a match venue, field, date, and/or time.

The Assignor will have two options when handling stale assignments:

Restore Assignments

  • Click "Restore  Assignments" to restore all match positions after the match has been changed (Officials must not have any conflicting assignments to restore match position assignments).

Clear Assignments

  • Click "Clear Assignments" to clear all match position assignments
  • Removes officials from the match and restores their availability for other assignments. 
  • The Assignor will be notified of match changes that require review on their Assigning Calendar. They can restore or clear stale assignments from any of the assigning tabs:

Step 1: Access your Assigning Calendar by clicking on the Referees - Assigning tab. You will see the banner listed across the page stating that the event has matches that require your review. Click into the event name to access your Match Chart assigning tool (Selecting "Click Here" on the red banner, will redirect you to the "Match List" assigning tool).

Step 2: Click on the match with stale assignments (identified by the striped color)

Step 3: Click either the "Clear Assignments" or "Restore Assignments" option.

    Clear Assignments

    • To clear match assignments, the Assignor clicks on the ”Clear Assignments” blue text hyperlink.

    • After clicking on “Clear Assignments”, the match will refresh with the stale identifier cleared, and the match restored to its original unassigned state.

    Restore Assignments

    • To Restore match assignments, the Assignor clicks on the ”Restore Assignments” blue text hyperlink.

    • After clicking on “Restore Assignments”, the match will refresh and remove the stale identifier. The original assignment(s) will restore and place the assignments onto the match position(s).
