US Club Soccer: As a Club Admin - How to Properly Release a Player from Club (Releasing Organization and Receiving Organization)

This article will go over all the steps club admins need to follow in order to release a player from their club so the player can be registered under another club. This article will provide the necessary steps for both the releasing organization and receiving organization.

Section 1: Club Admin Requesting the Release

Step 1:

You will need to go to Club Management > Roster Builder > select registration event and team > click on "Refresh or Purchase".

  • If a player is still registered under old club, you will see message "Current Membership With: Name of Club".
  • You will need to click on "Click here to submit a Player Release Request Form."

  • Review the information, select the correct role and click "Continue".

  • Sign the form and click submit.

Section 2: Club Admin Releasing the Player

Step 1: 

  • To approve the Release Request Form, you will need to go to Club Management > Forms and Requests.

  • Select the "US Club Soccer Player Release Request Form" and Search.
  • Find the request and click on the ID number.

  • Click on the green check box to approve the request.

Section 3: Cancelling the Membership and removing the Player from the Club

Step 1:

  • After you have approved the request, you will need to go to Club Management > Registrations to cancel the player's member registration.

  • Click on "Details".

  • Find the player's member registration and click on the ID.

  • Click on "Cancel Membership".

  • Once you have canceled the membership, you will want to remove the player from roster builder and from the team members list. To do this you will need to go to Club Management > Roster Builder.

  • Select the registration event and team, click on the "Red X" next to the player name that you are trying to release.

  • Click on "Remove From Event Roster and Team Members".

  • Once the player has been removed from the team, the last thing you will need to do is to remove the player from the club/organization.
  • You will need to go to your players' list and find the player.

  • Go to Roles and click on "Remove" next to the role from your club/organization.
