# Assignors - How to assign Referees using the Detail tool

## Overview: This article will instruct the user on how to assign referees using the "Detail" assigning tool.

**Step 1: Click on the Event name from your Assigning tools calendar.**

**Step 2: Once you've been redirected to the Match Chart, click on the "Detail" option.**

 You will have the option to hide or expand the event and date filters In the "Detail" assigning tool (Allows assigning grid to expand).

You can also expand or narrow your designated matches by clicking on the "Expand Rows" option to expand or collapse all venue fields in bulk, or expand/collapse specific venue fields.

There will be two options to assign referees to match positions.

 

**Option 1 - Assign using the Pop-out Window**

Step 1: Click on the match that you would like to assign to display the match position assigning window.

Step 2: From the pop-out window, click on the drop-down for the position that you'd like to assign to display the list of referees.

Step 3: Once you've selected your referee, click the "Save" button.

Your selected referee will be placed onto the match position.

**Option 2 - Drag and Drop Assignments**

After making initial assignments, you will be able to drag and drop individual referees or the whole crew to additional matches. 

Step 1: Locate the Referee or match that you would like to assign. Click, Hold, and drag the position or match, to copy the assignments from the reference match to the new match.

Step 2: Release your mouse to drop the assignments onto the desired match or match position.
