Tournament Game Set Templates

There are many ways to schedule groups of teams. For example, if you have a group of six teams there are six different ways you can create match-ups and even more permutations when it comes to playoff options. In this section we simply provide the most common game set options.

Simply copy the template and past it into the custom template box on the Game template tab.

Please note:There isno wayfor an odd number of teams to play an odd number of games. The easiest way to demonstrate the issue is to assume you have three teams and only want to play one game. team one can play team two but in order for team three to get a game, team one or two will have to play a second game.

Three Teams:

Issues there are only two other teams

Four game round robin, one bracket of three teams. The winner is most often selected on points, no playoffs.

Day1,A1vA2, A1vA3, A2vA3,Day2,A2vA1,A3,A2,A3vA1

Four teams:

Use the default template

Five Teams:

Use the default template. it is a four game round robin.

Six Teams:

Two Brackets of hree

1) Our default template will generate 1 game against the the other two teams in bracket. most events using this game set will have semis and finals on day two with the two third place teams playing a consolation game. This playoff structure is a default setting in the system.

2) 6 Team Standard 1 game crossover. Teams play the other two teams in their bracket and one beam in the other bracket (A1vB3,B1vA3,A2vB2).

3) Crossover (teams in first bracket only play teams in second bracket)

3.6 Team Standard 1 crossover. Teams play the other two teams in their bracket and one beam in the other bracket(A1vB1,A2vB2,A3vB3)

6 teams 1 bracket 5 game round Robin

Seven Team round robin 4 games 2 days:

Seven team flights are one of the worst to be left with. The most common solution is a four game round robin.

Eight teams:

Almost universally, two brackets of four teams. this is the default setting in the system

Nine Teams:

The most common solution for nine teams is to break them into a separate flight of four and another flight of 5. Some events wish to run three brackets of three. This can be al,so be done using the default template.

Ten Teams

1.Bracket A = 4, B and C = 3 – Standard 1 crossover 1v3 and 2v2

A and B = 3 c = 4 1v1 crossover

2.Bracket A and B =3 Bracket C=4 Standard and 1 crossover 1v1, 2v2, 3v3

3.Bracket 1 = 4 brackets B and C 3 each crossover play for B and C

Eleven Teams:

Most events break them into two flights of five and six.

Twelve Teams:

Most events run three brackets of four teams using the default settings.

If you prefer four groups of three with crossover:

(4groups of 3 - crossover) groups A crosses with B, and C crosses with D

Fourteen Teams:

1.A and B = 3, C and D = 4 (A and b are standard Crossover = 1v1, 2v2)

2.A and B = 3, C and D = 4 (A and B are standard Crossover = 1v3, 2v2)

3.(A and B =4, C and D = 3; C and D are standard plus 13 and 22 crossover)

4. 14 team A=4,B=3,C=3,D=4

5.(A and B =4, C and D = 3; C and D are crossover)

A=4, B=4, 1v3 cross over
